Methods of Intervention

Homeopathy

Homeopathy is a system of natural healthcare that has been in worldwide use for over 200 years. Homeopathy treats each person as a unique individual with the aim of stimulating their own healing ability. A homeopath selects the most appropriate medicine based on the individual's specific symptoms and personal level of health.

The remedies are made from natural substances, but are prepared in a very specific way: highly diluting substances that can cause symptoms if taken too much or too frequently to bring about cure of those same symptoms. This is known as “like cures like” or, the Law of Similars, a principle first discovered by Hippocrates much earlier than homeopathy was developed.

Modern research confirms the efficacy of homeopathy beyond the placebo effect. Homeopathy is the second largest system of medicine in the world, according the WHO.

 Occupational Therapy

With over 18 years of experience Michelle is a well versed occupational therapist specializing in complicated and often chronic pain syndromes, often with great functional outcomes even when a patron has undergone prior services from other health professionals. Additional specialties include neurologically based dysfunction in either trauma based injuries or dysfunction. The key to her successful outcomes is that she understands that the site of the pain is often NOT the source of the pain.

In staying consistent with the less is more approach from homeopathy, this theme is carried over to her hands on manual modalities including the use of Bowenwork, Tensegrity Medicine, and other specialized fascial release techniques.  Please contact Michelle to see if you are in her current services area, which includes two clinics in the Portland area, each serving the East and West sides of the city.

Please note that some cases in which mobility is severely impaired or with severe neurological/brain injuries arrangements for home visits will be considered.
